athlete, discus thrower, shot-putter, Olympic medallist, medallist of the World Championship and European Championship under 23 years, twice the champion of the Czech Republic in the shot put and nine-time champion of the Czech Republic in the discus throw.
A native of Litoměřice; she began with athletics in Lovosice as a high jumper, her talent for throwing disciplines was soon recognised; she joined a Kladno team specialized in throwing disciplines at 14; coach Josef Vávra was originally directed her to specialize in the hammer, but eventually the shot and the discus had won; and it was in these two events when she qualified to the final at the Junior European Championship in 1997.
She practised in the Prague Olymp under coach Josef Šilhavý in 1999, she won her first medal at the European Championship under 23 years in Gothenburg, Sweden; and in this period, the shot became only a supplementary discipline; she overthrew the boundary of 60 meters for the first time two years later and ranked among the world top; her performance rise in the discus throw was confirmed in 2002, she occupied the 4th place at the European Championships in Munich; she threw her personal best of 67.71 m in Rethymno, Crete in July 2003 and ranked among the world discus throw top; she confirmed this position at the Summer Olympics in Athens, where she won a bronze medal; she shined at the Odložil Memorial with the performance of 66.81 meters in June 2005.
She won a very nice fifth place during her second Olympics in Beijing, where she carried the Czech flag during the closing ceremony; she won 11 gold medals at the Czech Republic Championship between 2001 and 2011, two of them in the shot put and nine in the discus throw, she ended her career with a silver medal in the Republic’s discus throw in 2013.
